Acid Reflux During Pregnancy Heartburn During Pregnancy Heartburn Early Pregnancy Heartburn In Early Pregnancy
Are we too impatient about getting pregnant?
I'm noticing a trend and I wonder if you see it too - people who are really upset when they don't get pregnant the first month or so that they are trying to conceive. Don't get me wrong, I get why they'd be upset pregnancy-wise, but realistically and statistically, conception doesn't work that way.

Part of it is, in my opinion, that we spend so much time worrying about avoiding pregnancy and thinking about birth control, that we honestly believe that one time we don't use birth control we'll get pregnant. If it works that way when you don't want to get pregnant, surely it works that way when you do want to get pregnant.

The current recommendations are that you should seek help after twelve months of trying to conceive with well timed intercourse. (This number drops to six months if you are over 35.) I certainly think that there are times when you could be seen sooner and certainly I'd advocate that everyone who wants to get pregnant should start with a preconception check up. That would be a great time to talk about ways to identify when you ovulate so that you can do your part for the well-timed intercourse portion.

Certainly infertility is a problem, but you're not infertile if you've only been trying a month or two. My best guess is what you need to start with is some advice on charting your menstrual cycle to pinpoint ovulation. The good news is that having this information will help you get pregnant sooner, or be more prepared when you see someone about your cycles.

This is a true statement. But I'm here to offer you some advice. Set some money aside for breastfeeding costs. You might use this money for a lactation consultant, a nursing bra, a breast pump... And yet these costs might come as a budgetary shock if you haven't planned for it. Worst case scenario, you budget the money and don't use it. Then take the money and go get a massage or spend it on yourself in some other pampering way.

I actually came very close two years ago, having my daughter on Labor Day Weekend. But she was born the day before Labor Day, August 31st. It was a lovely water birth, though I hadn't planned on the water birth!

What about it - do you think about laboring on Labor day? Or other special days? It was the groups that I joined and the friendships that I formed with each of my pregnancies that really helped me learn and grow as a parent.

Together as a collective group, all due around the same time, would discuss what was going on with our bodies and our babies. We'd share stories and offer advice. It was a really neat way to share what I knew and to learn from other moms. In the end we each made decisions that were right for us, but we all agreed that we felt supported and stronger because of the relationships. Years later, I'm still active in many of the groups I joined when I was pregnant. And we're still busy supporting each other as our kids grow.

Won't you join one of the due date groups and try it yourself?

Do you enjoy talking to other moms? originally appeared on About.com Pregnancy & Childbirth on Monday, August 30th, 2010 at 09:20:40.

Permalink | Comment | Email this
Baby Shower Diaper Cake

Okay, I like to consider myself crafty, though I'm very obviously no Martha Stewart. Once I even made my own butterfly cake for a baby shower. So when I saw that I could make my own diaper cake for a baby shower, I quickly plotted how much time I had left until my next shower and started planning. I found that this was a pretty easy thing to do, though I wound up having to make it very quickly, despite my planning, and with the help of three little girls. So just imagine what you could do with some time and no helpers.

I remember walking into work when I was about 13 weeks pregnant with twins. I hadn't told my co-workers about the babies yet, but they knew something was up. Finally one of the nice ladies from the front office came back with a bowl of chicken noodle soup, "Honey, you look awful! Just drained, maybe you need to go home and rest awhile." The problem was that I actually felt better than I looked! I didn't go into work again without putting on some blush.

Beyond that my skin changed with each pregnancy. One pregnancy I'd be oily and full of acne like a teen and the next my skin was dry and itching. I couldn't win. So, what do you do about pregnancy and your skin care? Do you wear the same old make up? Or forget it all together? These tips and tricks for pregnancy make up might be helpful.

They are estimating that 4,136,000 births occurs in 2009 compared to 4,247,000 births in 2008. In 2008 the numbers of babies being born to mothers under 40 is decreasing, though there is still a rise in births to mothers over 40. This may also be the case in the 2009 numbers, but we will need to wait for the final birth data.

So why is the birth rate dropping? It's all speculation at this point, but the economic downturn could be playing a part in the lower birth rates. The economy started to drop off at the end of 2007 and the CDC said that they need to wait until all the data from 2009 is finished to make this connection stronger. Of course, then there are the weather related baby booms coming this year from all the storms last winter.
I'm one of those people who has babies who can't read calendars. While we all know that the concept of a 40 week pregnancy is only a guess, it still doesn't make us not focus on a due date. Here is some information on what happens when your pregnancy extends past that magic number - your due date. From what testing you can expect, to induction of labor and even when to let nature take it's course.

Sure, you see people in the throes of labor, madly throwing things into a bag at the last minute, and while that happens, my bet is that most people plan way ahead for this one. When I was packing my hospital bag for my first baby, I think I started it around week 36. As I dutifully ran down the check lists of everything I was supposed to bring to the hospital, I realized that the tooth brush would need to be a last minute addition. But what if I forgot it and had to use the nasty hospital fake tooth brushes?

So the obvious solution was to buy a new tooth brush. I'll admit it. I was being cheap. Who wants to shell out like $4 for a new tooth brush for the hospital bag, just in case you forget it? I mean seriously, it was $4 versus the nasty hospital fake tooth brush. I chanced it.

The other day when I was preparing to go on vacation, I was at the dollar store and it suddently hit me - that was the perfect solution! For about $5 you could stock up on every health and beauty product that you would need for the hospital. Seriously, you can buy like six tooth brushes for a dollar. One for you and dad, and a few guests. You could add tooth paste and a brush... We are up to $3. Throw in a two pack of Chapstick and a bag of hair scrunchies and you're all set! Seriously, this is an inexpensive and worry free way to take care of getting that bag packed for the hospital.

Below, you'll find extensive information on leading
acid reflux during pregnancy articles and products to help you on your way
to success.
Symptoms Of Pregnancy Heartburn-living With Heartburn During Pregnancy By Lincoln A lot of women all over the country suffer from symptoms of especially during the later part of their pregnancy. According to experts, the changes in the level of hormones in pregnant women would soften the ligaments that would normally have kept the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) tightly closed. Note that when the LES is open most of the time, food and gastric acid could escape into the esophagus and throat causing that burning sensation. Where the symptom of is so intense, many women would often think that they are having a heart attack.
Another reason why pregnant women often times suffer from the symptom of is that the weight of the growing baby on their stomach may cause a lot of pressure in the stomach. Pregnant women who eat large portions of food may experience a reflux of the food into the esophagus and throat coupled with that tight feeling in the chest area. The tightening of the chest will cause a lot much pain to pregnant women especially during the later part of their pregnancy.
How To Prevent Symptom Of Pregnancy Heartburn
Although symptom of could be considered as harmless, it could definitely make
Are we too impatient about getting pregnant?
